The Cerulean Oasis of the Desert
Jodhpur, India, is widely known as "the blue city." Many of the houses in Jodhpur’s older neighborhoods are painted in striking blue, a sharp contrast from the neighboring Thar Desert. Some say the color is associated with the Brahmins, India's priestly caste. Others believe that termites are to blame. Whatever the origin, this cerulean city is one of a kind.
