Reaching Individualized Optimal Oxygen Therapy in Mechanically Ventilated Patients
To the Editor The UK Intensive Care Unit Randomized Trial Comparing Two Approaches to Oxygen Therapy (UK-ROX) evaluated oxygenation strategies in a large and heterogeneous population of patients receiving mechanical ventilation while in intensive care units (ICUs). The study reported no significant difference in 90-day mortality between conservative oxygen therapy targeting peripheral oxygen saturation (Spo2) ranging from 88% to 92% and usual care (35.4% vs 34.9%; P = .28).
