Comedian John Bishop was left frantic after his pet pig Lucky trottered out of its pen
COMEDIAN John Bishop had to have a butcher’s after his pet pig trottered off from its pen.
The 18-stone Vietnamese pot-bellied, known as Lucky, made a dash for it after a builder at the star’s home left a gate open.
John’s wife Melanie noticed the hog missing, and launched a hunt — but the pet’s bacon was saved as it was soon spotted.
A source said: “The family moved in a few weeks ago. They are already very popular and have become an invaluable part of the community.
“They’ve also got lots of land so his animals are all loving their new home.
“But moving in hasn’t all been plain sailing.
“They’ve been getting some extensive building work done and, unfortunately, during the renovations a side gate was left open — and Lucky trotted out for a wander.
“Mad panic ensued, and all the builders and family went searching for her.
“All ended well and she was found snuffling around in their woodland.”
Dad-of-three John, 52, bought the six-bed mansion in Surrey after selling up in Cheshire last year.

He saved Lucky’s life in July after rescuing her from an abattoir.
The new home has around two acres for their animals which also include chickens, dogs and horses.
Last night a spokesman for John accused us of telling porkies.
