With season drawing near, SF Giants’ Peavy fighting ‘dead arm’
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – With his first regular-season start a little more than a week away, Jake Peavy admits he is fighting a dead arm, which often happens in spring training and contributed to a bad outing against the Mariners on Saturday. “It was a tough day all around for me. I didn’t feel the best,” Peavy said Sunday morning. “The arm didn’t respond. It just didn’t have the life that you really want. One of the big positives that came out of yestesrday was, the game didn’t count. “I shouldn’t say that,” he added with a smile. “We came back and won the game.” Peavy allowed six runs (five earned)
