Old St. Hilary’s Open Space Preserve: Walk offers Tiburon views
If you love the Tiburon views, but can’t afford the mortgages, then Old St. Hilary’s Open Space Preserve is for you. This small preserve — only 122 acres — offers 360-degree views of the Tiburon peninsula and beyond.
The preserve is divided into two areas: The northern section is a rolling ridgetop of serpentine grassland; the southern section leads to the historic Old St. Hilary’s church. The rare Tiburon jewelflower, a member of the mustard family with nearly black petals, can sometimes be seen along the trail.
Unfortunately, there is no official trail from one section to the other, so you will have to walk or drive a little more than half a mile along Lyford Drive and Vistazo Street West to get from one area to the other.
