[Women's Basketball] Skyhawks Fall Short at Home, Lose to the Buffaloes
West Point, Ga. – The Lady Skyhawks lost a tough game against the Buffaloes from Milligan College in a home conference game, 65-60. Kimberley Forbes (JR/Hoschton, Ga.) sank a basket with 5 minutes left in the first quarter to give the Skyhawks their only lead of the game, 4-3. After that the Buffaloes would snatch the lead back and never give it up. They had a 6 point lead over the home team after one quarter of play, 17-11. In the second quarter, the visiting team would extend their lead by 14 points with only 4 minutes gone. Going into the half the Buffaloes still held the lead at 36-25. The Skyhawks made a game of it coming out for the second half. They were able to tie the score at 44 after a made shot from Te' Johnson (SR/Huntsville, Al.), with 2:10 left in the third quarter. However, that is the closest Milligan allowed them to get and led by 5 going in to the final quarter, 50-45. In the final 10 minutes, the Skyhawks did not give up and battled back. They fought until the final buzzer sounded giving the final score of 65-60 in the Lady Buffaloes favor. This loss dropped Point's overall record to 6-7 and their conference record to 3-7.
