Invisible City's folkloric mysteries are only enhanced by the talented cast who portray carefully constructed characters. The brand-new Netflix fantasy series follows the bizarre discovery that mythology doesn't solely reside on pages in books. As fantastical creatures come to life in Invisible City, two environmental detectives discover that they may have been there all along, they just never seemed to notice until tragedy suddenly struck.
Created by Carlos Saldanha of Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs and Rio fame, Invisible City takes place in a small town in Rio de Janeiro. After a bizarre creature washes ashore, the environmental unit of the police force are placed on the case, only to discover that there are mythical explanations for why the mysterious animal showed up on their shores. As the series premiered on Netflix on February 5, 2021, fans and critics were commenting on its similarities to popular supernatural television programming such as Supernatural and Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Its use of folklore and mythology is nothing short of masterful and its detective elements make for an enthralling adventure story. There are even instances that are comparable to the most exciting Indiana Jones movies.
The Invisible City cast is lead by Marco Pigossi who is known for his role as Fábio in Netflix's original series High Seas. The main antagonist is portrayed by an even more recognizable name from Brazil. There are even some up-and-coming actors who are showcasing their talents in Invisible City.
