Destiny 2: Xur Location and Exotic Items (April 29 - May 3)
Xur is back for another weekend in Destiny 2, bringing new Exotic and Legendary weapons and armor for Guardians to buy from April 29 to May 3, 2022.
From April 29 to the daily reset on May 3, Guardians can find Xur's location in Destiny 2 to purchase Exotic and Legendary weapons and armor. Although Xur is the vendor for the Dares of Eternity activity in Destiny 2, Guardians can find him in one of three different locations across the system every weekend selling new gear. While his inventory isn't always full of items worth buying, Guardians can usually expect anywhere from one to three items being well worth the cost of Legendary Shards and Glimmer.
Xur also has a quest that allows players to complete Crucible, Vanguard Ops, and Gambit activities in exchange for a single Exotic Cipher. With an Exotic Cipher, Guardians can visit the Exotic Archive in the Tower to redeem it and other materials for an Exotic weapon that was once featured content in Destiny 2. For example, Guardians can buy Destiny 2's Forsaken weapons from the vault, which are otherwise unobtainable in-game.
This weekend, Xur can be found in the Watcher's Grave location on Nexus. After fast traveling into the map, head to the large tree with red leaves to find Xur at the highest point. It's likely other Guardians will already be there, so keep an eye out for their tags to find Xur's location in Destiny 2.
- Hard Light - Auto Rifle
- Gemini Jester (Hunter Exotic) - Dodging disorients and removes enemy radars.
- MK. 44 Stand Asides (Titan Exotic) - Safer shoulder charge abilities.
- Nezarec's Sin (Warlock Exotic) - Void kills increase ability regen
- Hawkmoon - Rangefinder Perk
- Dead Man's Tale - Vorpal Weapon Perk
This week's Nezarec's Sin, Hawkmoon, and Dead Man's Tale are all excellent choices to purchase from Xur. The Nezarec's Sin has a 69 total stat roll, with 26 points invested in Discipline and 15 points invested into Recovery. This armor piece has ideal character stats for Warlocks in Destiny 2, and it should be something every Guardian buys over the weekend. The Hawkmoon and Dead Man's Tale rolls are fantastic options for PvP, so players who can afford the materials should buy them as well if they don't already have some.
- Titan Armor Stats - Gauntlets (59), Chest Armor (60), Helmet (59), Leg Armor (53)
- Warlock Armor Stats - Gauntlets (60), Chest Armor (55), Helmet (56), Leg Armor (58)
- Hunter Armor Stats - Gauntlets (56), Chest Armor (54), Helmet (53), Leg Armor (57)
Unfortunately, Xur doesn't have any truly special piece of Legendary gear for all three classes this week. Guardians are better off saving their Legendary Shards and Glimmer, and instead, they should complete activities that reward Pinnacle armor. New players that are desperate for better armor rolls should consider the Warlock Gauntlets or Titan Chest Armor since the stat splits aren't terrible for those classes. Ultimately, it would be best to save the materials for another weekend when Xur is selling new items in Destiny 2.
- Seventh Seraph Carbine - Kinetic Auto Rifle with Hip-Fire Grip and Elemental Capacitor
- Jian 7 Rifle - Arc Pulse Rifle with Zen Moment and Outlaw
- False Promises - Kinetic Auto Rifle with Killing Wind and Sympathetic Arsenal
- Timelines' Vertex - Solar Fusion Rifle with Lead from Gold and Snapshot Sights
- Widow's Bite - Solar Sniper Rifle with Firmly Planted and Opening Shot
- Negative Space - Solar Sword with Tireless Blade and Surrounded
- Frozen Orbit - Void Sniper Rifle with Moving Target and High-Impact Reserves
Guardians looking to prepare for Season 17 should pick up Widow's Bite and Negative Space. A recent This Week At Bungie (TWAB) noted a lot of Solar and burn effect changes that will be implemented for the next season of Destiny 2. The information listed has all but confirmed that Season 17 will feature a Solar 3.0 change, so it can't hurt to have a couple of extra Solar weapons stored in the vault. The rolls for Widow's Bite and Negative Space actually great for those types of weapons, with Widow's Bite favoring more PvP play and Negative Space great for PvE. All Guardians, especially those who are new to the game, should buy them from Xur this weekend.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia.
