A CLEANING expert has revealed her handy hack to keep mould out of your home – and it’s cheaper than ever.
Cleanfluencer Anita Birges, aka @miseenplace_au, has revealed how she uses a stick of chalk – which costs just pennies – to keep the problem at bay in different areas in her home.
The Australian cleaning fan posted a video on TikTok where she told her 49,300 followers: “If you have mould in your drawers or in your bedroom, have I got the best mould prevention hack for you…
“It’s all about absorbing moisture and if you can’t get yourself on one of those dab free kits, all you need to do is get yourself some mega chalk.
“Then grab yourself some clove oil, dab on three or a couple of drops, and then you pop them in your drawer. Mould, mould, go away!”
Further lifting the lid on why and how the home hack works, Anita explained: “Place or hang them in cupboards and drawers around the house and allow the scent to waft around killing mould spores.”

And it’s not only a quick fix, but a long term solution, as both the chalk and clove oil work together to put a stop to the problem once and for all.
When one of her followers asked for more information on why it works so effectively, she replied: “The chalk absorbs the moisture and the clove oil prevents the mould from coming back.”
While others said they thought the trick was genius and would be incorporating it into their home routine, hailing Anita a “superwoman” for offering up her tips.
