[Women's Basketball] Five From SXU Women's Basketball Named NAIA Scholar-Athletes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Five members from the Saint Xavier University women's basketball team (20-9, 16-4 CCAC) were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes when the awards were announced by the national office Thursday morning. They were senior forward Claire Austin (Chicago, Ill./Davenport/Marist), senior guard Maia Fawcett (Queens, N.Y./Queens College/Progress), senior guard Alyssa Streeter (Chicago, Ill./Lewis/Jones College Prep), sophomore forward Sofie Carr (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) and sophomore guard Aaliyahna Derrell (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sand Creek). To qualify, a student-athlete must have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Over 850 student-athletes earned the honor.
