I don’t recognise my son who’s been arrested for breaching a restraining order
DEAR DEIDRE: MY son has just been arrested for breaching a restraining order.
He has changed from a lovely boy into a young man I don’t recognise. He’s 21 and my only child. I’m 51.
He was living with a girlfriend and she was the one who called the police.
She told them he was “off his head on drugs” and had threatened her. She is 22.
After the restraining order was put in place, he went to her flat to see their baby girl.
His girlfriend called the police and he was arrested for being aggressive towards a police officer.

I know he has got into drugs since I split up from his dad but it used to be a bit of cannabis here and there.
Now I’m sure he’s taking harder drugs.
I’m worried sick about what will happen to him.
DEIDRE SAYS: He’s the master of his own destiny and only he can decide if he wants to turn things around, get off the drugs and be a responsible dad.
