I’m disgusted at myself, guilty and out of control, says Chanelle Hayes as she opens up on binge eating disorder
CHANELLE Hayes says she’s disgusted at herself as she opened up on her binge eating disorder.
The star posted two photos of herself side by side recently, showing off a before and after during her weight loss journey.
Chanelle, 35, is wearing a yellow bikini in each of the individual snaps and in the right hand image she looks significantly slimmer after overhauling her lifestyle.
She penned to her fans: “Trigger warning!!!!!
“Had a bad day today with my eating. I know many of you follow me because of my weight loss journey and disordered eating so I don’t want to hide that I’ve had a mare of a day when it comes to moderation. I’ve binged all day long on everything you can think of.
“Right now I’m feeling disgusted at myself, guilty, out of control, poorly, uncomfortable and angry. But I need to remember this is normal. I can’t just “cure” binge eating disorder with weight loss surgery.
“This evening when the kids are in bed I am going to do some of the CBT exercises I’ve been taught to try to regain control of my actions towards food and understand that eating badly for one day or eating certain types of food isn’t “wrong”.”
Chanelle went on to say that, even while typing out her caption, she was finishing off crusts from a pizza.
She continued: “I am not hungry. This isn’t me being greedy… I cannot stop. Why am I doing this? The answer is: I don’t know.
“I need to remember tomorrow is a new day and I do NOTTTT need to restrict food, because that will lead to another binge. I need to look at the day with fresh eyes and from a guilt-free perspective and not beat myself up about the stuff I’ve eaten today.”
The Big Brother star finished her post by writing: “My body has changed, but my mind remains a work in progress.”
And she was praised by her fans, as one wrote: “I’ve never seen a post I can relate so much too!”
A second wrote: “Well done for sharing, this can’t have been easy. We all have those days. Take care and remember, tomorrow is a new day.”
A third person echoed: “Your honesty is amazing Chanelle. I am sure you will help so many people just by being honest about your journey. Big hugs and love.”
The former Big Brother star had a secret gastric sleeve op in August 2020 after ballooning to 17st.
Chanelle previously told how her extreme weight gain ruined her life as she refused to leave the house for a year because she was so ashamed by her size 18 figure.
The nurse said she “feels a million times better” since the sleeve surgery, but said she wants a tummy tuck because she is worried about the loose skin.
“I’m 8st now and a dress size 6-8. Last summer, I was around 9st 5lb and before having the sleeve fitted, I was a size 22 and 17st 4lb,” she told OK! magazine.
“I’ve actually been really stressed with university deadlines and the children’s schedules with schools and their dads and I think that’s caused the weight loss.”
