Abandoned time-capsule car dealership found with new ‘zero-milers’ untouched for 20 years…& they’re all the same colour
AN ABANDONED car dealership from the 80s has just been discovered – and it is full of ultra-rare Japanese cars that have never been touched.
The forgotten showroom in Malta, known as Fuji, was once the only Subaru dealer on the European island, but was soon put out of business by a rival garage.
Stories from the locals suggest the owner of this dealership just walked away one day after locking the place up.
Since then, the showroom has been left to rot.
But what’s left inside is an ultra-rare collection of right-hand drive Subarus – and most of them have next-to-zero miles on the clocks.
The rare fleet of cars inside the eerie dealership includes an early model Impreza estate with original wheel caps from the 80s and unpainted bumpers – just as it was launched in the day.
There is also a Subaru Sambar and a compact Justy in the showroom finished in original white paint job – and they are as good as new.
However, the show’s star is the extremely rare Subaru XT Turbo – a two-door highly competent sports car coupe launched in 1985.
At the time of production, the Subaru XT was a known innovator of small sports coupes.
With a four-wheel-drive terrain, the wedge-shaped sports car has only delivery miles on the clock – something extremely fascinating for a motor this old.
With the last one rolling out of the factory in 1991, it is potentially one of the last remaining brand-new Subaru sports cars in the world.
With a right-hand drive style, some enthusiasts even argue it could be rarer than a Ferrari in the UK.
While the showroom has been commercially shut for more than three decades now, the place is still being used by the owner’s family as a personal garage.
The fate of cars, however, seems to be in a fog as they are still not up for sale.
Meanwhile, another abandoned car dealership with some classics has been discovered in Bavaria, Germany.
The showroom now has six barely-touched Ford models that date back to the early 90s.
Over the years these cars have collected a solid layer of thick dust, but otherwise are in pristine condition.
The car seats are still wrapped in plastic and sales stickers on the side advertise the motors as new.
Even the odometres on a few of them read just two miles.
