Report: Tottenham are among three PL clubs interested in 23-year-old
Foot Mercato have now claimed that Tottenham are involved in a three-horse race for Jean-Clair Todibo alongside Manchester United and Chelsea.
The report says that Tottenham made an approach in a ‘very concrete way’ for Todibo and ‘pulled out all the stops to convince’ the centre-back even though Nice were not particularly keen on selling the player.
It is revealed that the player is keen on the Tottenham project but the North London club do not have time for Nice to change their mind as they wish to bring in a centre-back swiftly.
As a result, the Lilywhites are ‘about to fall back on’ Genoa’s Radu Dragusin but it is asserted that Ange Postecoglou’s men ‘have not said their last word’ on Todoibo.

Foot Mercato say that Chelsea and Manchester United have now ‘stepped into the breach’ for Todibo, with both clubs said to be admirers of the France international.
The outlet claims that the Blues are ready to ‘take out the chequebook’ to strengthen their backline and have made an approach for the 23-year-old over recent days.
Additionally, Man Utd are also thought to have scouted Todibo and with Nice’s owner, Jim Ratcliffe, buying a minority stake in the Red Devils, it could open the door for the centre-back to head to Old Trafford.

It does not seem like Tottenham’s decision to shift their focus to Radu Dragusin is done with the aim of calling Nice’s bluff on Todibo.
Much like their decision to move on from David Raya to Vicario last summer, it seems like Spurs are intent on signing the Genoa star swiftly rather than spending any more time negotiating with Nice.
