'Fight hard': Trump University prosecutor has advice for beating Trump's delay tactics
A prosecutor who took on Donald Trump in the past has some advice.
Trump has long been reported to have a favorite court tactic. Namely, the former president has for decades championed using delays in the court process to his on advantage, according to numerous reports.
Trump University prosecutor Tristan Snell appeared on MSNBC's Alex Witt Reports on Saturday, and was asked about how to beat Trump's delay tactics.
"Part of it is that Trump uses the due process of our system, the notion that we take these things seriously, and you actually argue it out, uses it against itself," Snell said. "He'll come up with a cockamamie argument, but the system basically treats that as if, we've got this argument, we don't know if it's cockamamie, we're going to have to have a briefing. We're going to have to have an argument, etc."

He continued:
"What do you do if you're a prosecutor on the other side of that? We've got to fight hard to make sure those things are expedited. That is why Jack Smith wanted that expedited appeal to bypass the D.C. circuit. straight up to the Supreme Court."
Regarding that rejected effort by Smith, Snell says it as a success in the long run.
"They actually denied that at first, but now they have granted cert... that was mission accomplished," he said. "It both made sure that everybody was taking it seriously, that he wanted to get this expedited, the D.C. circuit has moved faster, everything has moved faster, because it was clear the government has been putting its foot on the accelerator. That's what you have to do in this matter, and I think that if they actually can stay on target, they have the trial begin in March."
