'Hunterian slip': MTG skewered for bawdy fumbling of the word 'indictable'
A single word spoken by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Thursday has Americans wondering if it was a freudian slip, a Hunter Biden obsession or if the Georgia Republican doesn’t know how to read.
Greene’s oratory oopsie occurred on the House floor as she made stern demands for the impeachment of Department of Homeland Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
“The Founding Fathers intended impeachment to be used to deal with the commission of indictable crimes,” Greene said. But rather than rhyming indict with the word right, her pronunciation included a common nickname for Richard.
The video of Greene’s mistake was viewed nearly 1 million times in the two hours after it was posted to X.
The responses were thought-provoking.

“She can’t get Hunter off her mind,” wrote attorney, and vocal Donald Trump critic, George Conway.
“We call that a Hunterian slip,” quipped Melissa Peltier.
“She can't read either,” wrote @CarolFRNY. “Needs her finger to follow the sentences.”
