Police: Milford man stole $143K from NBT Bank during armed robbery
The Milford man is accused of executing an armed robbery at an NBT Bank in November and stealing over $140,000.
PITTSFIELD, Mass. (NEWS10) -- On Wednesday, Christopher Oliveri, 51, of Milford, was arrested in connection to an armed robbery at an NBT Bank on November 29. Pittsfield Police say Oliveri had a black revolver at the time of the arrest.
Oliveri is accused of entering the NBT Bank on November 29, displaying a firearm, and demanding cash. When the tellers opened the vault, the suspect reportedly zip-tied their hands and stole approximately $143,960.
Police say Oliveri used a white Nissan Pathfinder rental vehicle during the robbery. An arrest warrant was issued for the charges of Armed and Masked Robbery and two counts of Firearm-Armed Kidnapping. A search warrant was also issued for Oliveri's residence in Milford.
On Wednedsay, law enforcement prepared to execute the search warrant when they spotted Oliveri. After he was taken into custody, a search was executed. Evidence related to the robbery, including clothing, bags used, a firearm similar to the one used in November, and $112,700 in cash, were seized.
Arraignment on the arrest warrant in Worcester District Court is pending. Oliveri will then be transported to the Pittsfield District Court for arraignment on the charges of the NBT Bank robbery.
