My daughter’s school has turned into a prison… a child was put in isolation for a detail on their SOCKS, it’s ridiculous
A MUM has insisted her daughter’s school has turned into a prison, after a child was placed into isolation for a symbol on their socks.
Tink has long had issues with daughter Ruby’s school, and previously said she was going to make an album of all the letters she’s received about her teen.
And in her latest TikTok, Tink explained that when Ruby’s friends went back to school for the first day of the summer term – their first day with the new headteacher – they were stunned by the strict regime.
At the beginning of each day, all the students have to line up at the school gates for a “uniform check”.
And following the check on Monday, almost “half the school ended up in isolation for the entire day”.
In fact, there were so many children in isolation that the room they use for it was completely full.
And some students were even suspended for not having the right uniform.
Tink was left even more baffled when Ruby’s friend told them that one child had been put into isolation for a “Nike tick on their sock”.
“This is madness!” she said.
“This is absolute crazy.”
Tink filmed the video as Ruby was preparing to return to school for the first time since the Easter holidays.
But she argued that even though some teachers might think Ruby’s skirt is too short, she has to get that size because the other ones are too big around the waist – as she’s tall and slim.
Other than that, it’s the “right material” and the “right skirt”.
“So let’s see how her first day Goes and whether she ends up in isolation,” Tink concluded, adding that she’s told her daughter to text her if that does happen, so that she can ring the school and have her say.
People were quick to weigh in on the situation in the comments section of the video, with one writing: “There was a thing on ITV about how the numbers have gone up in suspension – no wonder when they pick on silly little things!”
“That’s so stupid,” another added.
“I have the exact same issues with my daughter’s school – it’s ridiculous,” a third commented.
“Uniform does not affect the ability to learn,” someone else said.
“Used to drive me crazy when I worked in a high school. What’s wrong with expressing a little personality?”
