Girls lacrosse

Gerstell 16, Concordia Prep 4: Freshman Whitney McIlvain scored three goals and had four assists and Addy McIlvain won 14 of 21 draws to lead the visiting Falcons (8-3, 5-0 Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland B Conference) over the Saints (4-4, 1-4).  Preslee Borek and Sara Fenwick each scored four goals for the Falcons.

Long Reach 15, Hammond 1: Chiara Pompei had four goals and two assists and Alaina North had two goals and two assists to lead the visiting Lightning over the Bears.

Annapolis 19, Northeast 4: Brooklynn Ricker had six goals and an assist to lead the visiting Panthers over the Eagles. Other top scorers for Annapolis included: Sarah Ericson (4 goals), Amelia Skinner (3 goals,1 assist) and Catherine King (3 goals). Sadie Steffens made eight saves for the Panthers.

Arundel 11, North County 7: The host Wildcats beat the Knights (0-6). Arundel has won three of its past five games.

Chesapeake-AA 16, Meade 1: Anna Kunes had two goals and two assists to lead the visiting Cougars (7-0) over the Mustangs. Other scorers for Chesapeake included: Kayla Bowman (2 goals, 1 assist), Addison Warrilow (2 goals 1 assist), Lexi Vosburg (2 goals 1 assist), Kaila Ansted (1 goal 2 assists), Nora Stankard (1 goal 2 assists).

South River 14, Southern 4: South River gets the win on senior night. Reese Toth and Alex Alto each had a hat trick to lead the host Seahawks. Cheyenne Jackson made 12 saves for South River. Emmie Mudd had two goals for Southern.

John Carroll 10, Glenelg Country 5: Maryland-bound Julia Ward made 14 saves and the visiting Patriots (7-4, 6-3 Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference) beat the Dragons (5-7, 4-6). John Carroll was led by Pieper McCue and Towson-bound Annie Minoglio each with a hat trick.

Boys lacrosse

Chesapeake-AA 17, Meade 1: Shawn Parks had three goals and three assists and Stephen Davis had three goals to lead the host Cougars over the Mustangs. Other top scorers for Chesapeake included: Dom Thatcher (2 goals ,1 assist), Chase Bivens (2 goals), Lucas Rice (2 goals), and Talan Behler (4 assists).

Broadneck 10, Crofton 4: The visiting Bruins limited the Cardinals to one goal in the second half and surged to victory. Broadneck was led by Brayden Schmidt (3 goals, 1 assist), Liam Komlosy (3 goals) and Blake Levicki (2 goals, 1 assist).

Annapolis 7, Northeast 6: Grady Roberts paced the Panthers, scoring four goals and assisting on another. Gage Berry netted a hat trick for the third consecutive game. In goal, Sean Roberson made 10 saves to help Annapolis seal the win.

Saints Peter & Paul 19, Indian Creek 7: Phillip Derrick made eights saves, but the visiting Eagles (2-8, 0-5 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference) fell to the Sabres (7-3, 2-0). Goal scorers for Indian Creek included: Caton Crowder (4 goals), Tyler Stroble (1 goal, 4 assists), Jason Marks (1 goal) and Aiden Evans (1 goal).

Glenelg 12, Centennial 5: The Gladiators (5-3, 5-0 Howard County) built a 6-1 halftime lead. Brandon Klopp had a hat trick and an assist, while Chris Iannarino added a hat trick. Tim Iannarino scored twice and added two assists, while Zach Coughlin made 10 saves. For Centennial (8-2, 4-2), Cam Westlake scored twice.

Boys’ Latin 9, St. Mary’s 5: The visiting Lakers (10-1, 6-0 MIAA A Conference) opened with a 5-0 run in the first quarter and beat the Saints (3-11, 0-6). Boys’ Latin got two goals from Lincoln Herring, Spencer Ford and Liam White. The Lakers top the A Conference with four games left in the regular season.

Archbishop Spalding 16, John Carroll 9: The host Cavaliers (9-4, 4-2 MIAA A Conference) beat the Patriots (3-6, 1-5). The win was the third straight. Tuesday, John Carroll travels to Loyola Blakefield. Next Friday, Spalding travels to Severn.

Softball

Towson 15, Perry Hall 3: The visiting Generals scored seven runs in the seventh inning and beat the Gators. Jelena Gardner went seven innings, gave up three runs on seven hits, walked one and struck out nine for the win. Molly Mohrn (3-for-5) scored three runs, had two RBIs and a double for Towson.

Western Tech 15, Dundalk 5: After each team scored three in the first inning, the Wolverines’ defense settled in while the offense erupted for 10 runs in the second inning. Abby Webb went 4-for-5 with a double, triple and three RBIs. Julihana Thomas and Bailey Allen drove in two runs in the win.

Carver A&T 12, Catonsville 3: The visiting Wildcats took a 4-3 lead in the first inning and beat the Comets. Carver A&T was led by Catcher Emily Hamp (3-for-4) with a double, two RBIs and three runs, and Mia McGarvey (3-for-4) with a double, triple, three runs scored and three RBIs.

Francis Scott Key 14, Winters Mill 3: Winning pitcher Maddi Rill worked five innings, gave up three runs on six hits, walked one and struck out eight and the host Eagles beat the Falcons. Piper Beahm and Emma Taff each hit a double for the Eagles.

South Carroll 8, Westminster 5: Alayna Enoff had two hits and three RBIs to lead the Cavaliers past the Owls. Maddie Wright, Sophia Pugliese and Myla Bell also drove in runs in the win. Kinleigh Smith and Nichole Brosenne split time in the circle, combining on a five-hitter.

Liberty 10, Manchester Valley 0: Sophia Steele was nearly unhittable. In her shutout effort, she allowed only one hit and two walks. Erin Martin, Haleigh Hodges and Hannah DeVincent all hit home runs for the Lions. Lucy Connor also had two RBIs.

Elkton 8, Havre de Grace 7: Winning pitcher LeeAnn Pugh threw seven innings, gave up seven runs on 11 hits, walked one and struck out 12 and the visiting Golden Elks beat the Warriors. Pugh went 3-for-3 with two home runs, two RBIs and four runs scored. Sarah Weitzel hit a triple for Havre de Grace.

Patterson Mill 12, Bel Air 6: The visiting Bobcats drew to within two runs in the fourth inning before the Huskies put together two two-run innings and won. Lily Baldwin went 3 ⅔ innings, gave up two runs on seven hits, walked two and struck out two. Reliever Mandi Redmiles earned the save. Redmiles went 3 ⅓ innings, gave up two hits, walked one and struck out two.

John Carroll 7, Broadneck 6: Winning pitcher Julia Wilkes went three innings and the host Patriots beat the Bruins. Sophie Anderson had a triple and Ryan Pindell had a double for John Carroll. Sydney Dawson, Emily Hildt and Sydney Barker also drove in runs.

Reservoir 21, Long Reach 16: The Gators (10-2, 9-1) outlasted the Lightning in a high-scoring affair. Cambell Sagin had a massive day at the plate with four hits, including two doubles and a home run, and nine RBIs. Shelby Granzow and Abbie Frisvold each had three hits. Catherine Yourishin also hit a home run for Reservoir.

Centennial 21, Hammond 5: The Eagles (6-4) offense excelled in the win led by three hits from Layla Schroyer who also had an RBI. Ayana Moore tripled, singled and had with three RBIs.

Wilde Lake 13, Oakland Mills 4: The Wildecats (1-9, 1-8 Howard County) won their first county game of the season with 10 runs in the first three innings. Keira Kusmaul and Ainslee Torres each had a team-high two hits and three RBIs. Torres also earned the win in the circle, striking out nine. For Oakland Mills (1-7), Paige Andrews had two hits and an RBI.

Mt. Hebron 22, Atholton 4: Winning pitcher Abby Magdar gave up four runs on four hits and struck out 10 and the visiting Vikings beat the Raiders. Mt. Hebron scored seven runs on one hit in the second inning. Kaelyn Cisna had the hit, a two-run single. The other five runs came on three walks, a groundout and an error.

Southern 7, Glen Burnie 2: Kaycee Catterton went 3-4 with three RBI to lead the host Bulldogs over the Gophers. Freshman Jordyn Harmel and Lilly Buhaj each had a double for Southern

Baseball

Harford Tech 12, Edgewood 1: Will Kerrigan, Ryan Hardisky and Brendan Coldiron threw a combined no-hitter and the visiting Cobras (8-2) beat the Rams. Starter Kerrigan pitched the two innings, walked one and struck out four. Hardisky threw two innings and struck out six. Coldiron worked one inning, gave up one run, walked one, hit one batter and struck out three.

C. Milton Wright 7, North Harford 3: All the Mustangs’ runs came in the fourth inning and three pitchers combined to hold down the Hawks. Ryan Herman had three hits and an RBI to lead CMW. Keith Cochran drove in two runs. Tyler Adamo, Kevin Emerson and Kyle Frank also drove in runs.

Manchester Valley 9, Liberty 0: Winning pitcher Gene Magin threw a complete game one-hitter and struck out 10 and the host Mavericks beat the Lions. Liam Ziegenfuss (3-for-5) had two doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs. Manchester Valley scored two runs in the second inning, three runs in the fifth inning, and two runs in both the sixth inning and seventh inning.

Westminster 6, South Carroll 4: Will Mollman had a hit and three RBIs to lead the Owls. Paul Burgee also drove in a run and also got the win on the mound, throwing three shutout innings allowing two hits. Clayton Dorsey went 2-for-2 with three runs scored.

Francis Scott Key 8, Winters Mill 3: Three Eagles pitchers combined on a two-hitter. Aiden LeFaivre got the win, striking out three in 3 2/3 innings. Offensively, Colton Feister, Ben Stevens and Nate Hobbs each had two hits and two RBIs.

Chesapeake-AA 16, Meade 1: Winning pitcher Sean Carroll worked five innings, gave up two hits, walked one and struck out five and the visiting Cougars beat the Mustangs. Cole Parsons and CJ August each had two hits, a double and two RBIs for Chesapeake.

Broadneck 3, South River 0: Noah Forman collected his fourth shutout win of the year, fifth overall win, and the visiting Bruins topped the Seahawks. Forman threw seven innings, gave up three hits, walked one and struck out six. Freshman Cooper Mengel hit a two-run double in the sixth inning. Broadneck totaled nine hits. Mengel, Devin McGowan and freshman Avik Cherry each had two hits and Calvin Cook had three stolen bases.

Glen Burnie 6 Southern 0: Brandon Brown threw a complete-game four-hit shutout and struck out four to lead the visiting Gophers (6-7) over the Bulldogs. Johnathan Maddox went 3-for-3 and Adam Sexton had a double and scored a run.

Glenelg Country 1, Boys’ Latin  0: Sebastian Mezzanotte hit an RBI single in the fourth inning and the host Dragons (3-6) upset the Lakers (10-3). Trey Miller pitched a two-hit complete game shutout. Brayden Henson, Cary Pakulla, Dominic Smirne, Sebastian Mezzanotte and Keegan Wojdon each collected a hit while Smirne scored the lone run.

Reservoir 5, Long Reach 1: Winning pitcher Cameron Whitehead went six innings, gave up one run on four hits and struck out eight and the visiting Gators beat the Lightning. Whitehead had a double and two runs.  Matt Russell went 2-for-2 with a walk and a run and Gavin Metrick (3-for-4) had two RBIs and pitched the seventh inning.

Howard 8, Glenelg 3: The Lions (5-4) won their third game in a row, sparked by a five-run sixth. Dylan Abrahams threw 5 ⅔ innings and Sean Dawes pitched 1 ⅓ shutout innings to get the win in relief. Ben Plasterer led the way offensively while three RBIs while Austin Proescher and Carter Parise each had two hits.
