It meant Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley‘s mid-morning show was late on air.
It comes after a man wielding a huge sword in the street has been pictured after “attacking people at random and two cops” in a terrifying rampage.
Horrifying videos from witnesses near Hainault Tube Station, east London, show the person clutching the huge blade as he prowled the streets.
Nina said: “Good morning. We are interrupting normal programmes to bring you news of a suspected stabbing attack in East London.
“In the last few moments, Metropolitan Police have confirmed they have arrested a man with a sword.
“It happened in the Hainault area shortly before 7am this morning.
“Police say they were called to reports of a vehicle being driven into a house.
“They say they understand the suspect went on to attack members of the public and two police officers.
“Their condition is unknown at this time.
“A 36-year-old arrested at the scene is in custody.
“Police have added they do not beleive there is any ongoing threat to the wider community and that the incident does not appear to be terror related.”
Nina added that she would return to deliver the news at 1.30pm as usual.
