New FBI Special Agent in Charge talks priorities
The new Special Agent in Charge of the Albany FBI field office discussed what he hopes to accomplish during his tenure.
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Field Office of the FBI has a new leader. Craig Tremaroli was named Special Agent in Charge in November.
On Tuesday, he discussed what he hopes to accomplish during his tenure after spending the first six months familiarizing himself with the office and other law enforcement agencies in the area.
He said the FBI will continue to focus on preventing terror attacks and violent crime. They are also trying to combat the rise in scams.
"We have a vulnerable community that's being victimized by threat actors who take advantage of these fraud schemes and take money from our victims," he said. "And we're here. When we receive these allegations to work those crimes and mitigate those instances, and hopefully, try to recover victim funds."
Tremaroli previously worked in the counterterrorism division at the FBI's headquarters in Washington D.C. He began his career as a police officer in Florida.
