TOPEKA (KSNT) - The Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library offers a unique experience for teens.
The Edge is a safe and creative space for 12 to 18-year-olds. Every day, there is a new activity for teens to participate in.
- Monday - 1st Monday: Writers in Progress (WIP), 2nd & 4th Mondays: Teen Art, 3rd Monday: Anyone Can Cook
- Tuesday - Digital Gaming
- Wednesday - Anime-ted in the Edge
- Thursday - Tabletop Gaming
The Edge is open 3-5 p.m. on school days and closed on the weekends.
KSNT 27 News spoke with the Teen Librarian, Andrew Ross, about the importance of this space for teens.
"Just giving them the space to be teens with other teens," Ross said. "Meet new friends and kind of have a structured place to go once school's out."
The library told 27 News The Edge will be getting upgrades within the next year.
