My $3 buy breaks up dirt in my pores overnight – a quick scrub in the morning clears blackheads, my nose looks pristine

AN acne-prone beauty fan has revealed the budget buy that freshened up their pores and revitalized their skin.

The skincare product was not only affordable, but it also cleared up the blackheads on their nose overnight.

Redditor Ekibbs has struggled with blackheads from clogged pores and offered a helpful solution on the social site.

They shared in a post the nightly beauty trick they do that changed their skin texture.

They recommended sleeping with a thick occlusive like lanolin or Vaseline on your nose to combat blackheads.

It’s important to do this only after washing your face at night.

“This breaks up the dirt and oil in your pores and loosens it,” they explained.

You can buy a cheap 1.75-ounce jar of Vaseline from Amazon or your local Target.

The technique doesn’t stop there because there is still work to be done in the morning.

After letting it sit overnight, use a firm toothbrush or a small dry brush and gently scrub your nose with the Vaseline still on it.

Then, you can continue with your normal face-washing routine.

“I do this nightly and my nose is pristine now,” they said.

Although it was effective for them, other Reddit users weren’t so convinced.

“Ooooh, I really want to try this! But has it ever caused clogging for you?” a reader asked.

“I live in a hot and humid climate and I’m worried about breaking out on my nose.”

They admitted they were cautious because they were “super prone to breakouts” on and in their nose.

Ekibbs could relate and revealed that they were prone to acne issues as well.

They said it was important that your skin is really clean if you have similar skin concerns.

They suggested using a “super tiny amount” of antibacterial soap just on your nose or a cleanser with salicylic acid in it before trying the Vaseline trick because it has antiseptic properties.

Although the other Redditor was concerned about the thick solution clogging their pores, they assured them that it doesn’t do that.

Ekibbs said it is “because the molecules are too big to penetrate the skin.”

That is exactly why proper cleansing before and after comes into play.

“If you don’t cleanse before or you have too much bacteria on your skin, then you are sealing that onto your skin and that can cause a breakout,” they explained.

Although not every clogged pore is a blackhead and can actually be a sebaceous filament.

According to Medical News Today, a blackhead is a blockage or plug at the top of a pore, while a sebaceous filament is a thin, hair-like structure that lines the inside of the pore.
