AmCham Cyprus holds strategic talks with deputy minister

The American Chamber of Commerce in Cyprus (AmCham Cyprus) on Thursday announced that it held a strategic dialogue with Deputy Minister to the President Irene Piki, focusing on key economic and business priorities.

The meeting took place in the presence of Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy Shane Siegel, bringing together government and business stakeholders for what was described as a constructive and forward-looking exchange.

Discussions centred on competitiveness, regulatory effectiveness and public–private cooperation, as well as Cyprus’ positioning as a credible and stable partner in the region.

Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening international partnerships that can support sustainable growth and innovation within the Cypriot economy.

A significant portion of the talks focused on the US-Cyprus strategic relationship, alongside ongoing bilateral and regional initiatives aimed at enhancing economic and institutional cooperation.

These include the US-Cyprus Strategic Dialogue, which provides a structured framework covering areas such as trade and investment, energy, digital transformation, education and security.

Reference was also made to regional cooperation initiatives, including the 3+1 format involving the United States, Greece and Israel, which supports stability and energy cooperation in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The exchange highlighted opportunities to deepen collaboration in sectors such as technology and innovation, clean energy, professional services and talent development, building on existing transatlantic ties and shared values.

“AmCham Cyprus had the pleasure of meeting with the Deputy Minister to the President for a constructive and forward-looking exchange on issues of strategic importance to the business community and the broader economy,” the chamber said.

“Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening international partnerships that support sustainable growth and innovation,” AmCham added.

“AmCham Cyprus remains committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen US-Cyprus economic engagement, encourage high-quality investment and foster long-term, inclusive growth,” the chamber continued.
