Tata Trusts chairman Noel Tata has told the Maharashtra Charity Commissioner that the 1989 transfer of 833 Tata Sons shares from the Navajbai Ratan Tata Trust complied with prevailing laws. The regulator will examine his response before deciding on an inquiry.
