The Queen’s Green Canopy was created to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee and encourage tree planting across the nation. Launched in 2021, the initiative brought together communities, charities, councils, cities, businesses and homeowners to plant healthy native trees and record them on a special interactive map. Following the Queen’s death on September 8, 2022, King Charles III extended the project until the end of March 2023, allowing further plantings in her memory.
