The Odisha court acquitted Budhadeb Naik, the last accused in the Graham Staines murder case. His acquittal follows the rejection of Dara Singh's plea for premature release by the Odisha government. Staines and his two sons were killed in January 1999, leading to national and international outrage. Dara Singh, sentenced to death in 2003, now serves a life term after his sentence was commuted.
