The Lady Chablis, who gained widespread fame first as a popular character in John Berendt’s best-selling book "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil," and then in the Clint Eastwood film by the same name, died Thursday after a struggle with pneumonia, according to Club One in Savannah where she performed. She was 59.
