Police unamused by “male friendship” near Baiterek in Astana

Tengrinews.kz — Astana police have reminded residents about liability for setting off fireworks at night. Three such cases were registered in the capital in one week: the offenders were fined, and one man was arrested for five days, citing the capital’s Police Department.
The first case occurred on the night of July 22. Around midnight, a group of people were setting off fireworks and making loud noise in the courtyard of a residential building.
Police identified about six participants. Administrative reports were drawn up against them for violating nighttime quiet rules.
It later turned out that the fireworks had been set off by a 30-year-old woman. She was held administratively liable for petty hooliganism and fined 20 monthly calculation indices.
Another case occurred on July 23 on the square near the Baiterek monument. Police identified a 37-year-old man who had set off fireworks.
The man explained that he had decided to congratulate a friend on the birth of a long-awaited child. He had bought the fireworks in advance from an online store.
For violating public order, the man was arrested for five days.

The third case was registered on July 24 on Koshkarbayev Avenue. According to police, a 24-year-old man organized a fireworks display to congratulate a friend on bringing home his bride.
Administrative materials were drawn up against him and sent to court.
Police urged residents and visitors of the capital not to use fireworks at night. The department stressed that such actions violate public order and disturb residents, and may also pose a safety threat.
