Tokayev expressed condolences in connection with the death of military personnel

Tengrinews.kz — President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has expressed his deep condolences to the families and loved ones of the service members who lost their lives in a tragic incident during military exercises in the Mangistau Region, citing Akorda.
The Head of State has instructed a government commission to take all necessary measures to establish the circumstances of the incident and provide assistance to the victims' families.
On September 24, during naval exercises in the Mangistau Region, servicemen were swept out to sea. The incident occurred during a combat training mission on the Caspian coast amid a sharp deterioration in weather conditions and strengthening winds.
According to preliminary data, 19 service members were swept out to sea. Nine people have died, three were rescued—one of whom has been hospitalized—and the search for the others continues. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the deaths of the service members, the Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan announced:

"An operational investigative group has been established. Personnel from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the Prosecutor's Office are currently at the scene. A comprehensive set of investigative actions is being conducted to ensure a thorough, complete, and objective establishment of all circumstances surrounding the incident. Necessary forensic examinations have been ordered."

To investigate the causes of the deaths, a government commission has been formed, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev
