Police search for author of threatening letter in Kostanay
Tengrinews.kz - Police have launched a pre-trial investigation after a message claiming that a terrorist attack was being prepared at educational institutions in Kostanay spread on social media.
Earlier, threatening messages targeting several educational institutions in Kostanay appeared online. An unknown author claimed that explosive devices had allegedly been planted in the buildings and also stated that illegal actions were being prepared.

Information about the possible threat was immediately verified. Police in the Kostanay Region inspected all the buildings mentioned in the circulating message.
As a result, no explosives, explosive devices or other suspicious items were found.
Police searching for the author
Law enforcement officers are now working to identify the author of the alarming message and establish all the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“The Police Department asks citizens to remain calm, not to panic and not to spread unverified information. We remind you that knowingly spreading false reports is subject to criminal liability,” the statement said.
The department also urged people to rely only on information from official sources.
