Forecasters warn residents of four cities in Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz — Kazhydromet has published a warning on its official website for residents of four cities in the central and western regions of the country.
The information concerns the air quality forecast for Monday.

“On October 12, unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in the cities of Zhezkazgan, Balkhash, Atyrau and Aktobe,” the statement said.

Unfavorable meteorological conditions associated with air pollution are a combination of short-term weather factors, such as calm conditions, light winds, fog and temperature inversions, which contribute to the accumulation of harmful pollutants in the near-surface layer of the atmosphere.
According to forecasters, Aktobe will see mostly clear skies with no precipitation. Fog is possible at night and in the morning. Southwesterly wind at 4–9 meters per second. Temperatures will range from +5°C to +7°C at night and +20°C to +22°C during the day.
Atyrau will be clear and dry. Southeasterly wind at 0–5 meters per second at night and 5–10 meters per second during the day. Temperatures will range from +9°C to +11°C at night and +25°C to +27°C during the day.
Zhezkazgan will be partly cloudy with no precipitation. Northwesterly wind at 3–8 meters per second. Temperatures will range from +3°C to +5°C at night and +19°C to +21°C during the day.
No precipitation is also forecast in the Karaganda Region. Fog is possible in the west, north and east of the region at night and in the morning. Southwesterly and westerly wind at 9–14 meters per second. Temperatures will range from 0°C to +5°C at night, reaching +8°C in the south and dropping to -3°C in the north and east. Daytime temperatures will range from +12°C to +17°C, rising to +20°C in the south.
