Foreigner arrested in Almaty for harassing woman on Terrenkur trail
The man behaved inappropriately toward a woman he did not know, grabbing her buttocks. The person involved turned out to be a foreign tourist who had arrived in Kazakhstan the day before.
Police officers from the Medeu District detained the offender. By court order, the man was placed under administrative arrest for 15 days. In addition, police submitted materials to the court to consider whether the foreign national should be allowed to remain in Kazakhstan.
“The law is the same for everyone. Any actions that violate public order and citizens’ rights will receive an appropriate legal response,” police said.
