“Special significance for our people”: President congratulates Kazakhstanis on Republic Day
The President addressed the ceremony and noted that this significant date holds special importance for the entire nation.
“On October 25, a landmark document — the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Kazakhstan — was adopted. That day opened a new era in the nation’s history and marked the beginning of our country’s independent development. Historical justice prevailed, and a solid foundation for independence was laid on our sacred land. Therefore, it is no exaggeration to say that this day marked the revival of the tradition of statehood in the Great Steppe,” the Head of State said.
According to him, this year Kazakhstan is celebrating the national holiday on the eve of the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence.
“Kazakhstan approaches this historic milestone as a dynamically developing state respected by the entire international community. The years of sovereignty have been marked by significant achievements. The inviolable attributes of national identity — our state symbols — have been established. Our sky-blue flag flies at the headquarters of the United Nations,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
He also recalled that Kazakhstan has established a national financial system and that the country’s borders have been fully demarcated.
“In the very heart of sacred Saryarka, on the site of an old city, the foundation was laid for our new capital, Astana — a city admired by the whole world. By strengthening our unity, we have declared ourselves globally as a territory of peace and harmony,” the President said.
