Opposition leader Vice President Jejomar C. Binay won’t be on “attack mode” against his fellow presidential hopefuls in today’s presidential debate, but would nonetheless be ready to defend himself from the barbs thrown his way. Most of all, United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) party spokesman and provincial coordinator Mon Ilagan said Binay will show everyone during the Commission on Elections (Comelec) debate that he’s the “well-informed choice” among voters for the presidency this May. “He will not start with the negative attacks against other candidates as he wants a platform-based discussions, being the most competent and experienced public servant,” Ilagan said in a text message, referring to the 73-year-old Binay. “However, Vice President Binay is also a good soldier as he is ready to defend himself and throw his punches against his attackers,” assured Ilagan.
