Tony Lascuña and Clyde Mondilla, two of the country’s hottest golfers, as expected, yesterday produced sterling rounds at the start of the Forest Hills Championship. Lascuna, whose game has not shown any sign of decay despite being one of the oldest players in the ICTSI Tour at 46, shot a six-under-par 65 to post a two-stroke lead over four others, including Mondilla. Mondilla turned in a 4-under-par 67 and shared second place with veterans Michael Bibat, Korean Min Ung-Park and unheralded Wilson Huerva. Three others were tied at three-under-par 68 – Junjun Rates, Marvin Dumandan and Charles Hong, while four more were sharing ninth place at 69, two under par.
