Pat Brogden of Garner, N.C., has herself in a good position to challenge for her sixth Carolinas Senior Women’s Amateur championship, shooting a 2-over-par 74 Tuesday to tie Kim Briele of New Bern, N.C., for the first-day lead in the tournament at Seabrook Island Club’s Ocean Winds course.
