Why should we restrict using plastic bags in Kazakhstan?
My project focuses on harmful impacts of plastic bags in KZ. First of all, They are not biodegradable, which makes them stay on the planet for thousands of years. That is the reason the Earth is facing such problem as pollution. Even though, some countries have realised its effect on the environment and stopped using them, many countries are still considering about it. And Kazakhstan is among them. I want to learn what KZ is doing. The government has made several steps, but it seems that they were not effective enough. If they knew about the side effects, they would at least try to reduce using them. Therefore, it is my main goal to enlighten them. This problem concerns me, because plastics are dominating my life and I want to know what I am using. I would like to know how to help the environment with my little actions and if it means giving up on plastics, we should do it before climate change comes to our doors. Most of the countries of Africa as well as countries of EU have restricted using plastics, so I think that for the economy of Kazakhstan it would be less costly. http://ec.europa.eu/environment/integration/research/newsalert/
MAIN PART
In this section I am going to tell about non-biodegradable plastics and their impact on the environment and in particular oceans. Beneficial properties of plastic also make its disposal problematic. There are a lot of evidences for that and Great Pacific garbage patch is one of that. According to Charles Moore who first discovered this phenomenon, this is large garbage layer floating in the North Pacific ocean. Marine debris is one of the significant things that we should focus on. Animals that live in the water ingest plastic, thinking that it is food and die soon because of...
