This factory in Belarus produces several times more cigarettes than are consumed locally – the question is why?
As relations between Lithuania and Belarus become more acrimonious, there is a silver lining – the opportunities for smuggling are reduced, as movement is limited to large trucks. We can benefit from this in terms of excise duties, as the chances for smuggling cigarettes are reduced. However, if there are remaining routes from the cigarette factory called 'Nemunas', they can easily be blocked by giving attention to this, and this should be a priority. This factory produces several times more cigarettes than are consumed by the people of Belarus – the question is why?
