State Sen. Cyrus Habib, D-Bellevue, lost his eyesight to cancer at the age of 8 but went on to become a Rhodes Scholar, Yale Law School graduate, intellectual property lawyer at Perkins Coie, and state legislator from the Eastside. Habib announced Friday that he is running for lieutenant governor. Incumbent Lt. Gov. Brad Owen, a conservative Democrat, has not announced whether he will seek another term.
