Changes mean Pick Six winners get only $146.16
The addition of a whopping $4,594,996 into the Golden Pick Six on Sunday at Golden Gate Fields pushed the pot to $6,003,071, but the payoff on the final day of the winter-spring season ended up being a paltry $146.16 per winning ticket.
Under California rules, such a switch after the Pick Six sequence has started results in those races being declared “no contest.”
Beautranda, a 10-to-1 shot, took advantage of the surface switch to win the 10th race (fourth in the Pick Six sequence).
Martin began the day with 59 winners to Jerry Hollenforfer’s 58 and finished with a 62-59 advantage to claim his third straight Golden Gate Fields training title and deny Hollendorfer his 50th.
