George Revel's eclectic tastes pay off for him
Owner of Lost Coast Outfitters fly-fishing store in San Francisco uses eclectic taste to reel in profits George Revel's tastes might be more expected of a man twice his age, but the 25-year-old's business profits from him being a bit of an oddball. Lost Coast Outfitters, Revel's fly fishing store-within-a-store that opened in December, is the only fly-fishing store in San Francisco after Leland Fly Fishing closed shop in 2011. Revel began fly fishing at age 12 - "I was a fly-fishing prodigy, I guess," he said - and traveled around the country fishing and working at trade shows. The Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club, 1232 John F. Kennedy Drive: It's a total retreat in the middle of the city. Pacific Rod and Gun Club, 520 John Muir Drive: San Francisco is the only big city with a skeet-shooting range within city limits.
