Artsakh President convenes Security Council meeting
ArmInfo.Artsakh Republic President Arayik Harutyunyan convened a meeting of the Security
Council.
According to the press service of the NKR leader, Harutyunyan
informed the meeting participants about the steps being taken to
clarify the fate of the citizens of the Republic of Artsakh, abducted
by Azerbaijan today, and return them to their homeland.
They discussed the situation in Artsakh, possible developments and
actions of the authorities in the direction of preventing a deepening
humanitarian catastrophe and solving security problems.
Today, on August 28, Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies abducted
three citizens of Artsakh Alen Sargsyan, Vahe Hovsepyan and Levon
Grigoryan at an illegal checkpoint set up by enemy forces in the
Kashatagh (Lachin) corridor. The young people were accompanied by
Russian peacekeepers, and they were traveling to Armenia to study.
This is the second time in the last month. Earlier, 68-year-old
Artsakh resident Vagif Khachatryan, who was transferred to Armenia
for treatment with the support of the ICRC, was abducted by enemy
forces from the checkpoint.
