Pero ¿qué sabemos sobre el lado más personal del de Puerto Rico? Esto es todo lo que tienes que saber sobre los orígenes de Ozuna, su mujer y por qué le llaman «el negrito de ojos claros».
De trabajar como limpiabotas a triunfar en la música
El ascenso a la fama de Ozuna no ha sido fácil. Nacido en Puerto Rico en 1992, el cantante, de ascendencia dominicana, tuvo que hacer frente a muchas dificultades antes de iniciar su exitosa carrera. Así lo explicó en una entrevista con la revista People, en la que confesó que durante mucho tiempo trabajó limpiando coches, como lavaplatos y limpiabotas e incluso llegó a ser empleado de la cadena de comida rápida McDonald's.
Fue en 2012 cuando el intérprete apostó por iniciar definitivamente su carrera en el mundo de la música, ligado siempre al reggaeton. Sin embargo, no fue hasta 2016 cuando consiguió llamar la atención del gran público con el sencillo 'La ocasión', de DJ Luian y Mambo Kingz, en el que colaboró también junto a Anuel AA y De la Ghetto. A partir de entonces, su carrera en solitario comenzó a despegar y comenzó a triunfar en las grandes listas con éxitos como 'Se Preparó', 'Vaina Loca', 'El Farsantes' o 'Criminal'.
No es el único gran éxito del puertorriqueño, que ha conseguido convertirse en una de las personas más influyentes del mundo. Así lo corroboró su ingreso en la prestigiosa lista de la revista 'Time' y convertirse en el primer artista con siete vídeos que superan los mil millones visitas en YouTube.
El intérprete es además uno de los más triunfadores de la historia en premios tan prestigiosos como los Billboard latinos o los Grammy latinos.
¿Por qué a Ozuna le llaman «el negrito de ojos claros»?
Todos hemos oído alguna vez el sobrenombre «el negrito de ojos claros» que el propio Ozuna emplea en prácticamente todas las canciones en las que colabora. Y tal y como parece, el origen de este apodo está bien claro: radica en el color de sus ojos.
El cantante puertorriqueño tiene efectivamente el iris de color marrón suave, lo que hace que sus ojos sean muchos más claros que los de muchos otros personajes racializados. Así, el propio cantante ha decidido emplear este nombre, con el que ya muchos le reconocen allí donde va.
Su atípica historia de amor con Taíne Marie Melendez
Ozuna es un poeta de la música y muchas de esas canciones tienen una clara protagonista. Se trata de su mujer, Taíne Marie Melendez, con la que el cantante ha compartido gran parte de su vida y junto a la que ha protagonizado uno de esos amores de película que son difíciles de ver en el mundo de la música.
La pareja se conoce de toda la vida, pues ya en la infancia eran amigos —vivían uno muy cerca del otro—. Sin embargo, su relación no empezaría hasta varios años después y, desde entonces, se han mantenido juntos y siempre muy enamorados. De hecho, Taíne Marie fue uno de los grandes apoyos del cantante cuando este quiso dar el salto profesional a la música cuando aún eran novios.
«Es bien difícil la juventud; el cambio tan rápido de ser un niño, que andaba en bicicleta, a tener una esposa que me ame mucho, que dé la vida por mí. No sabía que era eso, después de varios años», explicó el cantante. «Cuando te conocí, solo tenía 40 dólares en el bolsillo, no tenía carro, solo tenía un corazón para darte», le declaraba a su mujer.
Antes de casarse y formalizar su amor definitivamente, Ozuna y Taíne Marie tuvieron dos hijos: Sofía y Juan Andrés. A pesar de su amor, la pareja pasó momentos difíciles: «No ha sido fácil; han sido ocho años casi ya, no he matrimonio, sino de noviazgo. Altas y bajas, pero siempre firme con mi familia; siempre trabajando para ellos, construyendo el futuro de ellos. No sabemos cuánto tiempo vamos a estar aquí.
