AFC Wulfrunians ended the year on a high as they took the Boxing Day derby honours with a 5-2 win at home to near neighbours Wolverhampton Casuals. Aaron Bishop lead the way with two goals, with Chris Knight, Tom Poole and Jack Rowley all joining him on the score sheet.
Wulfs got off to the perfect start, opening the scoring in four minutes with Bishop converting Ash Jackson’s right wing cross.
After soaking up more early pressure, Casuals hit back to level on 26 minutes for former Wulf Angelo Franco dispatching a low 22 yard free kick into the bottom corner of the net.
Parity lasted just one minute as Chris Knight fired Wulfs back ahead with a neat finish after good work from Poole.
Soon after it was 3-1 as Bishop netted the goal of the game. Dom Dell’s initial effort was brilliantly cleared off the line by Matty Bestall but Bishop picked up the loose ball on the left corner of the area and drilled a shot across goal and into the far top corner of the net.
It got better still six minutes before half time as Poole supplied the finish to an excellent sweeping Wulfs move.

The second half continued in similar fashion and Wulfs went nap just before the hour mark with Rowley powerfully heading home James Hill’s right wing corner.
To their credit, Casuals continued to battle to the end and pulled a goal back late on with Dean Williams converting from close range after his initial penalty had been saved by Tom Haywood.
