The project’s split floor plate maximizes corner units and dual-aspect homes, while supporting a deliberate unit mix.

The project by Perkins&Will marks BCIT’s first new student housing in over 30 years, more than doubling residential capacity and becoming Burnaby’s tallest mass-timber building.

This year’s RAIC Gold Medal recognizes Pat Hanson’s work from the past twenty years at the helm of gh3*, the studio formed in 2006. Rather than an oeuvre developing over time, these projects appear—strikingly—as fully mature works secure in concept, technique, and handling of form and materials.
