Allegations of widespread fraud raise questions about the safety of generic drugs made overseas

A new book raises questions about whether the federal government is doing enough to ensure the safety of generic drugs coming into the United States. Nine out of every 10 prescriptions filled are for generics. That saves Americans some $3 billion a week over the cost of brand-name drugs. Many of those generics come from abroad, with 80 percent of active ingredients and 40 percent of finished drugs coming from outside the U.S. Anna Werner reports.

Bumble CEO talks new initiative and how it's making dating online safer for women

The CEO and founder of Bumble is expanding her mission to empower women. Whitney Wolfe Herd created the dating app in 2014 and since then, it has grown to more than 55 million users in 150 countries. Wolfe Herd joins "CBS This Morning" to reveal a new initiative called "Moves Making Impact," where users pick a cause to support and then Bumble donates to women making a difference in their community.

"48 Hours" investigates investor who vanished after allegedly killing wife

A murder that shook an upscale California neighborhood is now the focus of an international manhunt. Multi-millionaire businessman Peter Chadwick and his wife QC disappeared from their Newport Beach home in 2012. Chadwick was later charged with her murder for Allegedly staging her death. Uber IPO values company at twice the size of Ford

People who enjoy riding in Uber cars will be able to buy shares in the company for the first time Friday. The stock market debut is expected to be one of the largest initial public offerings ever, with the company valued at more than $82 billion. Uber's stock will start trading at $45 a share. CBS News business analyst Jill Schlesinger joins "CBS This Morning" with what it means for Uber drivers and their customers.

U.S. raises tariffs on $200B worth of Chinese goods as trade talks continue

American businesses and consumers will pay more for many Chinese imports after the U.S. increased tariffs on $200 billion worth of goods Thursday night. There is now a 25 percent tariff on Chinese products worth a total of $250 billion. The Trump administration raised tariffs in the middle of the trade talks that continue today in Washington. Weijia Jiang reports.

Much of Houston under water as flooding strands motorists in Texas, Louisiana

Heavy rain and severe flooding is affecting some 22 million Americans Friday morning. Texas and Louisiana seem to be hardest hit, with much of the Houston area left under water. Flash flood watches are up in six states and the rain is expected to last into the weekend. Mireya Villarreal reports.
