Obama: Russia will get bogged down in Syria

At a White House press conference Friday, President Obama called out Vladimir Putin for bombing rebels and civilians in Syria to prop up the Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad. Floods in Maryland and the Carolinas

Flooding continues in Ocean City, Maryland, while streets are under water in Charleston, S.C.. Virgina Beach has had nearly 9 inches since Wednesday. In New York City, crews are working to keep the water from a slow-moving nor'easter from low-lying areas. Kris Van Cleave has details.

Coast Guard searches for ship in eye of storm

The U.S. Coast Guard is flying into the eye of Hurricane Joaquin trying to locate the El Faro cargo ship carrying 33 people. The Coast Guard sent 2 aircraft and a Coast Guard cutter into the storm. But they’re battling 140-mph winds and 30-ft waves. David Begnaud has the latest.

Oregon shooter's arsenal revealed

Investigators said more than a dozen weapons were found in Chris Harper Mercer’s possession including a Smith and Wesson, Taurus .40 caliber pistol, Glock 19, and a rifle. All of them were purchased legally. Mercer also had the type of steel-plated body armor worn by police. Neighbors say he was depressed, reports Jeff Pegues.

Oregon shooting victims' names released

President Obama ordered flags flown at half-mast for the nine killed at a community college in Oregon. Late Friday, officials released the names and images of the dead. Nine others were wounded, including Chris Mintz, a hero who was shot as he tried to stop the gunman. John Blackstone reports from Roseburg, Oregon.
