Biden rejects Republicans' $50 billion infrastructure offer

President Biden dismissed Republicans' latest offer for infrastructure plans. The president spoke with West Virginia Senator Shelley Moore Capito about the deal Friday. She offered an additional $50 billion for the plan. However, the White House and Senate Republicans are still miles apart on negotiations. CBS News correspondent Christina Ruffini is at the White House with more, and CBS News political reporter Grace Segers joins from Washington with the latest on the negotiations.

Delta flight lands safely after onboard incident

The FBI responded Friday after a Delta flight from Los Angeles to Nashville was diverted to Albuquerque after a passenger approached the cabin in a way that forced flight attendants to act. Delta said Flight 386 landed in Albuquerque without incident and the passenger was removed by law enforcement.

Nicole Yoon burst onto the literary scene in 2015 with "Everything, Everything," a book that has now sold more than 2 million copies. Now the author is back with "Instructions For Dancing," a book about a young girl who can see into the future as she grows up in Los Angeles.

Political implications of Trump’s Facebook suspension

It will be at least two years before former President Trump will be able to use his Facebook account. The social media company suspended him on January 7 for inciting violence. Canadian nurses commute across the U.S.-Canada border to care for American patients

Due to the pandemic, the long border between the U.S. and Canada remains closed to non-essential travel. But essential does describe the work of a small army of Canadian healthcare workers. Every day they cross into the U.S. to care for American patients in Michigan hospitals, and during COVID, some got infected themselves. In Canada, there's been pushback from people who fear these healthcare workers could bring the virus home. Adriana Diaz spoke with two nurses who say despite those challenges, they wouldn't have it any other way.

CDC urges parents to vaccinate their teens after spike in COVID hospitalizations

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention urges teens to get vaccinated against COVID-19 in a new report issued Friday. The agency says the number of adolescents hospitalized with the virus rose last month and nearly one-third of them required intensive care. This comes as just more than half of all adults in the U.S. have received at least one dose of the vaccine. Michael George has the latest.
