Canadian Super DIRT Weekend Preview: 358-Modifieds Ready for a Big Championship Finale
CORNWALL, ONTARIO – Thursday, October 9, 2025 – Martin Belanger – We wrap up our Canadian Super DIRT Weekend preview with the JLB Heating and Cooling 358-Modifieds, as the headline division takes center stage for a huge weekend of racing that includes the crowning of a champion on Friday and strong purses throughout the event.
Ryan Stabler enters the weekend as the points leader in the Fat Les Chip Stands Canadian Nationals Series, holding a comfortable 49-point advantage over Carey Terrance. With the series using a championship point format, Stabler will need only a top-15 finish—or to stay close to Terrance—to secure his first series title.
The battle behind Stabler is extremely tight, with just seven points separating Terrance, Mario Clair, Corey Wheeler, and William Racine for positions two through five. Luke Whitteker also remains within striking distance, sitting just 14 points behind Terrance. Friday night’s 50-lap finale will pay $4,000 to win.
On Saturday, the 358-Modifieds return for another 50-lap showdown, once again paying $4,000 to win, before closing out the weekend on Sunday with the marquee 100-lap main event, offering a $10,000 top prize.
A highly competitive field is expected, including returning two-time winner Michael Maresca, along with top names such as David Hebert, Steve Bernier, Steve Bernard, Martin Pelletier, Jonathan Ferguson, Tristan Draper, William Racine, Kyle Dingwall, Sébastien Gougeon, Sam Charland, and members of the Hammond family. They’ll square off against Cornwall regulars Corey Wheeler, Ryan Stabler, Louie Jackson, Brian McDonald, Carey Terrance, Mario Clair, and the Cyr brothers, Gabriel and Justin.
The field is projected to exceed 40 entries for all three nights, with even more expected to join on Sunday as additional drivers return from Oswego.
